Oktoberfest is released!
Yesterday we put the Oktoberfest on tap at the brewery. We bottled it earlier in the week, so you should be able to find it at your local stores this weekend. Its a very good batch, we could not be happier with it!
We are getting prepared today for Labor Day weekend, and the Iowa Festival of Beers. I really hope that the high gas prices don’t keep people away! In consideration of this (and other reasons) we have lowered the Admission price to 10$ for all you can drink… hey what a deal! Also I have word that Ed Fallon, the democratic gubernatorial nominee for governer, will be attending, and perhaps even playing in the early afternoon.

Congrats Aaron, I wasn’t able to stay as long as I would have liked, but it seemed like a great success. As I said before, hopefully this will convince a few more in attendance that a brew pub or microbrewery DOES have a market in Iowa.
Do you know a good place in northern Cedar Rapids/Marion/Hiawatha to buy your beer? I’ve been buying Schild Brau at the Super Target on Blair’s Ferry but that’s basically all they seem to stock; well that, John’s, and it seems like they keep one sampler on the shelf.

I believe our best account up there is the Hivee Wine and Spirits attached to the Marion Hi-vee.
