Hooray for the Schild Brau! We are very proud to do even better than last year. 2nd place out of 25 entries is no small feat! And winning two years in a row shows that we have some good consistency in our beer!

The Oktoberfest struck out. With over fifty entries, the competition was stiffer than I expected in that category. We’ll see what the judge comments say. Last time, they told me it was too malty for the style.

I really was expecting the White Ale to do better, with it have such great online ratings at beeradvocate.com. But apparently it wasn’t as well liked as Celis White. I’m surprised to see that Allagash White or the Brooklyn Wit didn’t place.

Well anyway, I need to get back to cooking brats at Oktoberfest here in Amana. :)
