Brewing Wit
Making a new batch of John’s Generation’s Wit today. This brew really keeps me busy, with all the different addition times for the spices.
Its been a busy week here at the brewery. We are preparing for a super-saturday. Its the grand opening of the Main Street in Amana. It looks really nice, now that they have finished with the construction. I remember my first impression in Amana was the very small sidewalks, only big enough for one person. That is now a thing of the past.
And then we have the Iowa City Brewfest which I will be at. I just talked to Doug over at John’s Grocery, and he assured me that it will be a great fest. Raccoon River will be there from Des Moines, one of my very favorite brewpubs in Iowa. Also there will be the Cask Conditioned ale that Doug is providing.
Chris is going up to the Waterloo Festival. We are not sure what to expect up there since this is the first year. Its called the Tall Grass Prairie Festival… thats about all I know.
Teresa will be in Iowa City participating in the Slow Food Field To Family dinner. I have to say i’m kinda of jealous. They are serving our Oktoberfest with what looked like a very delicous meal. I’d like to be their to try that! Here is the menu.
The Oktoberfest is out, and the Warsh Pail ale is GONE. We sold the last two cases to John’s Grocery, since it was so popular there, and we wanted the Iowa City crowd to have the last swing at it.
Well I have to cut this short as my wort is about done going down to the fermenter. I hope to see you all at the Iowa City Brewfest!!
